Advancing reading skills of elementary students
In-school mentors’ primary job is to assist students in kindergarten through third grade in practicing their literacy skills, with the goal of reaching grade level milestones by the end of the year. Click here for more information.

|Greater Jackson Habitat For Humanity||Construction Volunteer||Want to build with a team and have fun at the same time? Anyone who enjoys swinging a hammer, hanging drywall, painting, and being a part of a one-day per week team should join us. Habitat for Humanity invites you to participate as a consistent volunteer. We can train you – you needn’t be a skilled tradesman or woman – just willing to help with our mission of building homes and building lives. Greater Jackson Habitat for Humanity needs volunteers 18 and over, willing to give one day per week on Monday, Wednesdays or Thursday to serve as a part of a construction crew. |Heartland Hospice||Visit Patients||We have several patients in the area that need a friendly visitor to brighten their day. Volunteers decide the days and times they visit. We ask volunteers to visit once a week. Patient visit volunteers can talk to patients, play games, watch movies or simply hold someone's hand.
